OpenPlant Modeler Help

Consistency Manager - Nozzle Placement Procedure

This task assumes the following:
  • A PID drawing has been created and multiple equipment components placed.
  • The PID drawing has been synced with an imodel on PlantSight.
  • An OpenPlant Modeler model has been created and equipment components have been placed.
  1. In your OpenPlant Modeler model, open the Consistency Manager.
  2. Select the pipeline previously placed in OpenPlant PID.
  3. Right click and select Create Pipeline:
Note: Nozzles are associated with pipelines which is why the pipeline needs to be created.

At the moment, nozzles cannot be placed directly from the Consistency Manager. When you right click on a nozzle you will get the following message:

Nozzle placement uses the current pipeline properties for placement. It is important to create the Pipeline first and have it set in the Preferences.

  4. From the Equipment tab select the Freeform Nozzle option.
  5. Select a nozzle from the ensuing dialog:
  6. Select the pump or vessel on which to place the nozzle.
Note: Selecting the equipment gets the relationship between the equipment and nozzle.
  7. In the Place Component dialog click Browse.
  8. Select a nozzle from the Tab Browser.
Note: The only nozzle(s) that are shown have relationships to the selected piece of Equipment. This can be seen with the nozzle tag. The first part of the nozzle tag is the selected piece of equipment.
  9. Select OK. Notice the tag number is changed in the placement dialog.
  10. Click the Element Selection option to end the command. Repeat this procedure for additional nozzles.
